Upcoming book release: BEDFELLOW

It broke into their home and set up residence in their minds…

Check out the disturbing cover for Jeremy C. Shipp’s Bedfellow, a bold and original tale of horror that will stick with you long after it’s over.

bedfellowcover

Bedfellow is available November 13th from Tor.com Publishing. From the catalog copy:

When the… thing first insinuated itself into the Lund family household, they were bemused. Vaguely human-shaped, its constantly-changing cravings seemed disturbing, at first, but time and pressure have a way of normalizing the extreme. Wasn’t it always part of their lives?

As the family make more and greater sacrifices in service to the beast, the thrall that binds them begins to break down. Choices must be made. Prices must be paid. And the Lunds must pit their wits against a creature determined to never let them go.

It’s psychological warfare. Sanity is optional.

New Baby Turtle

A few nights ago, I had a dream that a little baby turtle was biting my fingers, again and again and again. Of course, I thought, “Aww, I would love to adopt this fellow as my pet.”

Then, a couple days later, my brother found a little baby turtle wandering outside the house, near the garbage cans. No one in the neighborhood has claimed him as their pet, so I’m adopting him.

Here he is:

This little guy doesn’t have a name yet, so I’ve decided to choose a name from the suggestions in the comments section.

I’ll make my decision on May 26, so be sure to post your name suggestions before then.

Attic Clowns Out Now

I’m excited to announce that my new horror book ATTIC CLOWNS is out now. You can get it on Kindle and Nook.

Description:

Bram Stoker Award nominee Jeremy C. Shipp spins 13 tales of horror and dark humor in this highly conceptual collection. Angels and demons, husbands and wives, tormented ghosts and an army of men made of soap–all of them trapped in attics of the mind, attics of heaven or hell, the attics we make for ourselves or with which we ensnare others.

Meet a paranoid astronaut whose jealousy drives him to extremes beyond murder…a miniature circus spawned from the mind of a woman with too much control…the underling demon Globcow who desires redemption even more than the taste of human feet…

Men, women, children, and things beyond imagination all interconnect in ATTIC CLOWNS, where laughter is only the prelude to the bizarre and terrible.

“Jeremy C. Shipp’s boldness, daring, originality, and sheer smarts make him one of the most vital younger writers who have colonized horror literature in the past decade. Shipp’s modernist clarity, plus his willingness to risk damn near everything, put him up at the head of the pack with the very best.”
–Peter Straub, author of Ghost Story

“Shipp’s clear, insistent voice pulls you down into the rabbit hole and doesn’t let go.”
–Jack Ketchum, author of The Girl Next Door

ATTIC CLOWNS is available on Kindle and Nook.
